President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent his congratulations to Ademola Adeleke on his victory in the Osun State Governorship Election which was conducted on Saturday 15 August, 2026.
The President said, Adeleke’s re-election is a “fitting assurance” which signifies that “democracy will continue to flourish” in Nigeria under the administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In his congratulatory message via X signed by himself, the President said, he called the Osun State Governor to rejoice with him on his victory in the election; the victory confirms that, the people of Osun State have “confidence” in him.
President Tinubu wrote: “The re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke in the just-concluded Osun election is a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in our country under the All Progressives Congress administration.
“I called Governor Ademola Adeleke @AAdeleke_01 earlier today to congratulate him on his election victory in Osun State. His victory once again confirmed the confidence the people of Osun State have in him.”
The President prayed “great success” for the Governor as he gets ready for another four (4) years as Governor of Osun State; he said, Adeleke must “unite” the people of Osun and help them “grow”, be “stable” and “progress”, not minding their political choices.
Also, he praised the “courage and discipline” from Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), alongside other contestants in the election.
He said, the result of the election shows the “will of the people” as he commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for ensuring the election was “peaceful and transparent”.
President Tinubu further wrote: “I wish him great success as he prepares to lead the state for the next four years. Now that he has won, Governor Adeleke must unite the people of Osun State and rally them for growth, stability, and social and economic progress, regardless of the political choices they made at the election.
“I salute the courage and discipline displayed by other contestants in the election. Their participation deepened and enriched our country’s democratic culture. The outcome of the election reflects the will of the people and is a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in our land.
“I must also commend the Independent National Electoral Commission and the security agencies for conducting a peaceful and transparent election that produced a clear winner.”
The President concluded: “May our democracy continue to thrive and be strengthened.
