On Friday 22 May, 2026, Dapo Abiodun, Executive Governor of Ogun State, “honoured and celebrated” retired and retiring Heads of Service, Permanent Secretaries of the Southwestern State.
The Governor made known, the celebration of the officers was necessary following “years of dedicated service and sacrifice” which contributed to the progress of Ogun State.
The event was a “farewell gathering”, as well as, a period to express appreciation to men and women who served the State with “unwavering commitment to duty”.
Taking to X, Governor Abiodun announced: “Today, we gathered to honour and celebrate our retired and retiring Heads of Service, Permanent Secretaries, and other senior officers whose years of dedicated service, sacrifice, discipline, and professionalism have contributed immensely to the growth and development of Ogun State.
“This ceremony was not merely a farewell gathering, but a moment to appreciate men and women who served our dear State with honour, integrity, and unwavering commitment to duty.”
Abiodun said, the “efforts and sacrifices” of the outgoing officers “remain boldly reflected in the successes recorded under our “Building Our Future Together” Agenda”.
The Governor said, his government is grateful for the “legacies” these officers are leaving behind for “future generations”.
He urged officers who are still active in service to not cease to “uphold the highest standards of professionalism” to the people of the State.
Abiodun prayed God’s “continued peace and sound health” for the retirees as they commence a new chapter of life.
Goveenor Abiodun said: “As a government, we remain deeply grateful for their years of meritorious service, the values they upheld, and the legacies they leave behind for future generations.
“We equally encouraged officers still in active service to continue to uphold the highest standards of integrity, accountability, professionalism, and selfless service to the people of Ogun State.
“As our distinguished retirees begin a new chapter of life, we pray that Almighty God grants them continued peace, sound health, fulfilment, and many more years of purposeful and impactful living.”
