Barcelona German head coach, Hansi Flick, has said, he is still pursuing the Uefa Champions League trophy with the Catalans.

The former Bayern Munich manager made the statement ahead of his Barcelona’s top flight encounter against Celta Vigo on Wednesday night.

Barcelona were ousted from the Uefa Champions League 2025/26 after a 3-2 aggregate loss to another La Liga side, Atletico Madrid, in the quarter finals of the tournament.

Flick described Barca’s “elimination” from the UCL as “painful” and told the Club, he still dreams to win the Champions League with Barca.

According to the Club’s official X account, the German manager said, Celta Vigo are “always tough”, as well as, admitted, “it won’t be easy” against the Sky Blues.

At his pre-match press conference, Flick said:

On Celta Vigo…

“Matches against Celta are always tough. We have to play as well as possible, but it won’t be easy. They have players who control the game very well.”

On exit from Uefa Champions 2025/26…

“The elimination was really painful, but now we have to focus on the league. It’s close, but it’s not done yet. We have a points margin. We have to give it everything.”

On his dream with Barcelona…

“My dream is to win the Champions League with Barça. I want to be the coach when the Spotify Camp Nou is completed.”

On the mood of players…

“It’s not just about titles, but also about how we play football. I think the club and the fans are happy.”

Barcelona are currently at the top of La Liga 2025/26 with seventy-nine (79) points, and trailed by Real Madrid, who have accumulated seventy (70) points; both after thirty-one (31) points.
