It was the lowest low under Liam Rosenior for the Blues on Tuesday night. Right now, Chelsea’s chance of qualifying for the Uefa Champions League next season is non-existent.
Chelsea were seriously embarrassed 3-0 in the Premier League 2025/26 match on Tuesday 21 April, 2026 by Brighton and Hove Albion at American Express (AMEX) Stadium.
At full time, Rosenoir apologized to fans who had called for the hammer slammed on him all through the second half.
Enzo Fernandez, who wore the Captain armband after all his statements about moving to another club, was seen shrugging his shoulder at the same fans.
The performance from Chelsea all through the clash was highly annoying, from the moment Kaoru Mitoma forced goalkeeper Robert Sanchez to make a save just two (2) minutes on, the direction of the match was known.
The Seagulls went in front very early, in the 3rd minute, through Ferdi KadıoÄŸlu; English midfielder, Jack Hinshelwood added the second in the 56th minute from a G. Rutter’s assist.
In the 1st minute of additional time, Danny Welbeck put the icing on the cake with the third.
In his post-defeat comments, Chelsea boss, Rosenoir vented: “By far [the worst]. That was unacceptable in every aspect of the game. Unacceptable in the attitude. I keep coming out and defending the players, but that’s unacceptable tonight.
“Something needs to change drastically right here, right now. We need to look in the mirror. I can’t keep coming out here defending some of the things we’re seeing.
“General attitude, spirit, was lacking, determination, maybe three or four out of the 11, that’s nowhere near enough for this club. I can’t come out and lie.”
