Chelsea manager, Liam Rosenior, has given fitness updates on two of his top players, Estevao Willian and Enzo Fernandez.
The updates are coming following Chelsea’s disappointing lone goal defeat to Manchester United in the Premier League match on Saturday 18 April, 2026 at Stamford Bridge.
Estevao started the top flight clash, however, after he almost found the opener for the Blues with a shot that brushed the post, the 18-year old was forced off the pitch in the 16th minute.
Rosenoir, former Strasbourg manager, told Chelsea FC official website, Estevao’s issue “looks like it’s his hamstring”.
Fernandez, Argentina midfielder, featured for eighty-eight (88) minutes on his comeback to the Blues from a two-game absence. Sadly, he was unable to finish the fight and was replaced by Romeo Lavia late on.
On the Argentine midfielder, the Blues coach said, “I think it was his calf”.
At his post-defeat press conference, Rosenoir said:
On Estevao’s Fitness…
“It looks like it’s his hamstring and that has happened in a moment when he’s running through on their goal for a one-v-one chance – he pulls his hamstring in that moment. I hope Este comes back sooner rather than later.”
On Fernandez’ Fitness…
“I just saw him in the dressing room – I think it was his calf. I’m hoping it’s cramp; he’s getting work on it right now because we want him, obviously, fit for Tuesday [against Brighton and Hove Albion].”
Chelsea will travel to AMEX Stadium for a Premier League clash against Brighton on Tuesday 21 April, 2026 at 20:00 (WAT).
