President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside his wife and First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, visited Westminster Abbey on Thursday 19th March as part of their State Visit to the United Kingdom (UK).
The Nigerian President and the First Lady were welcomed to the Abbey by the Very Reverend Dr David Hoyle, Dean of Westminster.
Dr Hoyle invited President Tinubu to lay a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior in honour of the fallen of the two World Wars and more recent conflicts.
The President signed the Abbey’s Distinguished Visitors’ Book after laying the wreath.
The Nigerian Leader last visited the Abbey in May 2023 when he attended the Coronation of Their Majesties The King and Queen.
President Tinubu and the first Lady landed in the UK on Tuesday marking the beginning of their State Visit to the country.
The President was invited by King Charles III and Queen Camilla; the visit has emerged the first Nigerian state visit to the UK since 1989 and the first time a Nigerian leader will be hosted at Windsor Castle.
Tinubu and his wife were hosted at Windsor Castle by the King and Queen from March 18 to 19.
