Bundesliga 2025/26: Harry Kane ‘proud’ after Bayern Munich and Hamburger share spoils

Harry Kane has said in his post-draw comments that, he is “proud” following the outcome in the Bundesliga match between his side, Bayern Munich, and Hamburger SV on the evening of Saturday.

Bayern Munich, Bundesliga 2024/25 Champions, were forced to share points in the top flight encounter against Hamburger SV on Saturday 31 January, 2026 at Volkspark Stadion in the city of Hamburg.

Vincent Kompany’s Bavarians, who headed into the game from a 2-1 win over PSV Eindhoven in the Uefa Champions League 2025/26 last League Phase match in the Netherlands on Wednesday, watched as the home side took the lead through Fábio Vieira.

Vieira, who joined Hamburger from Premier League side, Arsenal, on loan, opened the scoring for Hamburger SV from the penalty spot in the 34th minute, but, Joshua Kimmich provided for Kane, who levelled for the visitors in the 42nd minute.

And, just one (1) minute into the second half, Bayern Munich went in front after Luis Diaz successfully converted Michael Olise’s assist.

Despite all the heavy pressure from Bayern, the hosts were still able to find a leveller through Luka Vušković in the 53rd minute.

Hamburger SV were able to hold off all the attacks from their visitors and ended up sharing points at home.

Harry Kane said after the game: “I am proud of the team and of the fight. We have to keep going.”

Currently, Bayern Munich, who suffered their first top flight defeat of the season in the match against Augsburg last weekend, are still sitting comfortably at the summit of the table, trailed by Borussia Dortmund, who have amassed forty-two (42) points, with one (1) game unplayed, while, Hamburger SV are 13th with nineteen (19) points.
