Morgan Rogers, England attacking midfielder, netted a brace for Aston Villa as they defeated Manchester United 2-1 at Villa Park in the Premier League match on Sunday 21 December, 2025 to make it ten (10) victories back-to-back in all competitions.

John McGinn’s assist was well converted in the 45th minute by Rogers to place Unai Emery’s Villans in front, but, Ruben Amorim’s Reds levelled in the 3rd minute of the first half additional time through Matheus Cunha from Patrick Dorgu’s assist.

The hosts went in front again after Ollie Watkins provided for Rogers who found the back of the net in the 57th minute.

Manchester United deserved their equalizer after displaying an ambitious football in the first 45 minutes, but, in the second half, Portuguese midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, went off injured and Lisandro Martinez coming on in midfield with Kobbie Mainoo absent.

After Rogers netted Aston Villa’s second, Cunha would have levelled for the visitors, but, his unmarked header from left-wing cross by Dorgu missed the target from six (6) yards out.

The result places Aston Villa on the third spot with thirty-six (36) points while Manchester United are 7th with twenty-six (26) points, both after seventeen (17) encounters.

Aston Villa will spend Christmas trailing Arsenal with three (3) points after winning seven (7) Premier League 2025/26 matches consecutively.
