Chelsea 3-0 Barcelona: Blues make light work of Catalans in Champions League

Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea discomfited Hansi Flick’s Barcelona by three (3) goals to zero (0) in the Uefa Champions League 2025/26 League Phase clash on Tuesday 25 November, 2025 at Stamford Bridge, England.

Two (2) best 18-year-olds in world football, Estevao and Lamine Yamal, locked horns on Tuesday night for the first time, but, it was the Brazilian who glowed after hitting the back of the post for the home side.

The former Palmeiras star fired an effort into the roof of the net for his side’s second after beating Pau Cubarsi; the night was disappointing for Yamal.

Deservedly, Chelsea went in front in the 27th minute after Jules Kounde found the back of his own net, after Pedro Nero’s strike rebounded off him, and in the 44th minute Barcelona captain Ronald Araujo was sent off for a second booking, only one side was going to win.

Estevao added the second for the hosts in the 55th minute, converting Reece James’ assist and substitute Liam Delap added Chelsea’s third – his first goal since the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, which Chelsea won after beating PSG 3-0 in the final in the United States (US).

Blues Italian boss, Maresca, made the courageous decision to kick off without a recognized striker, and fielded Neto as false nine with Joao Pedro sidelined – a move that yielded positive outcome and helped the English side move fifth in the Champions League standings.

The outcome will help Chelsea head on to play against Arsenal in the Premier League 2025/26 match on Sunday with confidence.

Mikel Arteta’s Gunners are currently topping the Premier League table with 29 points while Chelsea are second with 23 points.
