Barau FC grateful to ‘wonderful’ fans for support in goalless draw against Enyimba in NPFL opener

Barau Football Club has extended its “heartfelt” appreciation to its “wonderful” fans following the goalless draw in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) 2025/26 opener against two-time CAF Champions League winners, Enyimba, on Sunday 24 August, 2025 at Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, Kano State.

Enyimba, led by its Chairman, Nwankwo Kanu, faced the newly promoted Barau FC in the Sunday top flight encounter after parting ways with twenty-two (22) of its players, including former Super Eagles forward, Brown Aide Ideye.

In its post-Enyimba comments on X, Barau FC wrote: “Barau FC extends its heartfelt appreciation to our wonderful fans for their incredible support during our first NPFL match at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata.

“We truly value your passion, commitment, and determination.”

Barau FC will lock horns with Bayelsa United in their next NPFL match on Sunday 31 August, 2025 at 16:00 (WAT).
