Nancy Pelosi, 52nd Speaker of the House, has come out to criticize President Donald Trump’s “senseless” tariffs which she said, are “making life more expensive for America’s working families”.
The former Speaker’s statement is coming few days after the US President signed the ‘One, Big, Beautiful Bill’ into law.
The 47th US President said, the Bill will bring about the “largest tax cuts” in the history of the United States (US), also, border security and “jobs by the millions”.
However, Pelosi said, Trump’s “reckless” policies are resulting to “increasing prices”, as well as, “devastating businesses”, instead of reducing costs as she promised.
Pelosi’s statement is coming as a response to a tweet by AP News, which says: “Inflation rose last month to its highest level since February as Trump’s tariffs are pushing up the cost of a range of goods.”
She quoted AP News’ tweet and commented: “Trump’s senseless tariffs are making life more expensive for America’s working families.
“Instead of lowering costs as he promised, his reckless policies are increasing prices and devastating businesses.
“Democrats are fighting back to make America more affordable for all.”
