‘I have vowed to stand against stealing of elections’ – Atiku

Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has made a “vow” to “stand against stealing of elections and oppose bad governance”.

Atiku, who is a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Coalition, said he made the pledge while receiving Gombe Stakeholders delegation led by Idris Abdullahi, former Minister and Senator.

The ADC Coalition has promised to ensure that, the welfare of every Nigerian citizen is prioritized, as well as, to pull down “structures” that have placed Nigerians into “poverty and insecurity”.

The 2023 Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) assured, the opposition leaders of the Coalition under the covering of the ADC will “usher in a positive change that will transform the lives of our people”.

Taking to X, Atiku said: “Yesterday, I vowed to stand against the stealing of elections and oppose bad governance.

“I made the pledge while receiving a delegation of Gombe stakeholders led by former Minister and Senator Idris Abdullahi.

“I stressed that enough is enough, and that Nigerians cannot continue to suffer amidst an abundance of resources owing to bad governance.

“The coalition of opposition leaders under the umbrella of the ADC would work assiduously to usher in a positive change that will transform the lives of our people.

“The quality of the interim leadership shows that we are ready to bring integrity to the process and give Nigerians the responsible leadership they deserve.

“I am further inspired by the Gombe stakeholders’ pledge of total support and loyalty to the decision of the coalition by joining the ADC.

“The group reminded me that I laid the foundation for the development of Gombe when I supported the election of Danjuma Goje as governor in 2003.”
