‘Emir of Gusau was strongly committed to peace’ – Atiku

Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has expressed “deep sorrow” after receiving the news of the passing of Dr. Ibrahim Bello, the Emir of Gusau, who passed at the age of seventy-one (71).

Waziri Adamawa said, the reign of the “distinguished statesman” was defined by “integrity and a strong commitment to peace”.

He extended his “heartfelt condolences” to the Gusau Emirate, his family, and the good people of Zamfara.

In his tribute on X, Atiku wrote: “I received the news of the passing of His Royal Highness, Dr. Ibrahim Bello, the Emir of Gusau, with deep sorrow. A distinguished statesman and a custodian of tradition, his reign was characterized by wisdom, integrity, and a strong commitment to peace and development.

“His passing is a significant loss to both Zamfara State and the nation as a whole. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Gusau Emirate, his family, and the good people of Zamfara.

“May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannah Firdaus.”
