Non-governmental and non-profit organisation, BudgIT Nigeria, has exposed how the 11,122 projects worth N6.93 trillion inserted by the National Assembly (NASS) were distributed.
BudgIT revealed, “238 projects exceed N5 billion, totaling N3.29 trillion”, and, “1,119 projects fall between N500 million and N1 billion, totaling N641.38 billion”.
According to BudgIT Nigeria: “Here’s how the 11,122 projects worth N6.93 trillion inserted by @nassnigeria in the 2025 Budget were distributed:
“238 projects exceed N5 billion, totaling N3.29 trillion
“984 projects are between N1 billion and N5 billion, totaling N1.71 trillion
“1,119 projects fall between N500 million and N1 billion, totaling N641.38 billion
“5,818 projects are between N100 million and N500 million, totaling N1.15 trillion
“1,493 projects range from N50 million to N100 million, totaling N86.33 billion
“1,420 projects are between N10 million and N50 million, totaling N37 billion
“50 projects are under N10 million, totaling N339.13 million.”
In his reaction after BudgIT exposed the 11,122 projects worth N6.93 trillion inserted by NASS into the ‘2025 Budget of Restoration’, former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, said, “For Nigeria to make progress, it must cease to function as a crime scene and be repositioned for genuine development.”
