Arsenal kicked holders Real Madrid out of the Champions League as a beautiful 2-1 win at the Bernabeu sealed a 5-1 aggregate triumph to set up a semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain.
Mikel Arteta’s Gunners squashed all the talk of a Real Madrid comeback following their three-goal first-leg win – Bukayo Saka’s penalty in the 13th minute was saved by goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois.
The Gunners continued fighting until the 65th minute when Saka opened scoring after converting Mikel Merino’s assist, however, Madrid quickly levelled through Vinicius Junior two (2) minutes later.
Another assist from Merino was converted by Gabriel Martinelli in the 3rd minute of additional time to send the English side into the last four (4) of the tournament.
This win makes it the first time Arsenal is reaching the semi final of the Uefa Champions League since 2009 and only the third time in their history.
