The fight happened at the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the United States (US) on Friday 15 November, 2024 at 8:00pm ET (Saturday 16 November, 2024 at 2:00am Nigerian Time).
Tyson’s last professional fight held in 2005, however, he has competed in a series of exhibition fights, with his most recent being against Roy Jones Jr on November 28, 2020.
In his post-victory comments, Paul said: “First and foremost, Mike Tyson – it’s an honour to be able to fight him. It was as tough and hard as I thought it would be.”
Tyson, wearing a knee brace never launched much of a challenge after receiving some left hands in the third round, however, did well defensively to avoid taking any heavy damage.
Despite losing, Tyson might continue fighting. After the contest, he admitted fighting through a leg injury.
Tyson said: “Yeah, but I can’t use that as an excuse. If I did, I wouldn’t be in here.”
