Hurricane Milton has weakened further and is now a Category 1 Hurricane, National Hurricane Center (NHC) reveals in its latest advisory.

Hurricane Milton struck Sarasota County in the State of Florida as a Category 3 storm on Wednesday 9 October, 2024.
The storm left more than three (3) million homes and businesses without power, killing four (4) people.
Governor of Florida State, Ron DeSantis, said, “more than 50,000 linemen are working to restore power”, and warned residents “as you are surveying damage and cleaning up your property, be cautious of hazards like downed power lines and operate generators a safe distance from your house.”
Hurricane Milton hit Florida some days after the coastal State was struck by Hurricane Helene.
