According to Delta State Government: “In a major step to bolster food security and enhance agricultural productivity, the Delta State Government has unveiled plans to distribute 9,000 bags of fertilizer to farmers across the state.
During a meeting with Farmers’ Associations in Asaba, Dr. Kingsley Emu, Secretary to the State Government, outlined the allocation details. Farmers specializing in oil palm will receive 1,490 bags, while cassava farmers are to receive 1,100. Other key beneficiaries include banana and plantain farmers (350 bags), rice (150 bags), and greenhouse farmers (200 bags), among others.
To ensure transparency and efficiency in this process, the state has formed a committee consisting of the Special Adviser on Agriculture and the Director of Crops and Livestock. This proactive approach reflects Governor Sheriff’s commitment to fostering sustainable development and ensuring that farmers receive the resources they need to thrive.”
