Buildings turned to rubbles in Gaza following retaliatory airstrikes by Israeli forces |
This is as a result of the fighting between Israel and Palestinian militants, known as Hamas, in the region.
The fighting between Israel and Hamas started after Hamas launched a surprise attack on the Southern region of Israel in the early hours of Saturday 7 October, 2023, killing several Israelis with many others taken hostage.
In retaliation to the surprise attack, Israel launched aerial strikes and imposed a siege on Gaza.
The siege prevented the entry of food, clean water, medicine, electricity and many other necessities.
According to UNRWA: “In north #GazaStrip, the scale of destruction and loss is staggering.

“This is an unprecedented level of destruction and forced displacement, taking place in front of our eyes.”
