Japan Earthquake: ‘Tsunami advisory lifted’

According to X account (@CAO_BOUSAI), reposted by the Prime Minister’s Office of Japan, a tsunami advisory which was released officially after a 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck the Asian country, has been lifted.

On Monday 1 January, 2024, Japan was struck by a massive 7.6 magnitude earthquake, and a tsunami advisory was issued later.

The tsunami advisory was lifted on Tuesday 2 January, 2024.

According to X account (@CAO_BOUSAI): “[Tsunami Advisory Lifted]10:00 JST on 02 Jan 2024, A tsunami advisory has been lifted for Western part of Pacific Coast of Hokkaido <and widespread areas>”

Forty-eight (48) people have been confirmed dead as a result of the earthquake.
