Japan Earthquake: 7.6 magnitude disaster strikes, homes levelled, roads shattered

Homes have been flattened, and roads torn to pieces after a 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck near the Noto peninsula in Ishikawa prefecture on Monday 1 January, 2024.

The massive disaster led to Japan’s first major Tsunami warning since the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami that had about 18,500 people declared dead or missing in the Northeast.
