The Supreme Court will also deliver its final judgment on the Petitions filed by the Labour Party (LP), People’s Democratic Party (PDP), alongside other Political Parties, challenging the victory of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 2023 Presidential Election.
The 2023 Presidential Election conducted on Saturday 25 February, 2023 produced Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as 16th President of Nigeria.
Tinubu’s Certificate of Return was handed him by the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.
Aisha Yesufu said: “Next is Supreme Court ruling and then election would be duly rounded up and the statement of account of Obi/Baba-Ahmed Campaign Account can be made public by the Presidential candidate!
“There are many who have concluded their election, Obi/Baba-Ahmed Campaign hasn’t.”
At the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT), on Wednesday 3 September, 2023, the Court struck out Labour Party and its 2023 Presidential candidate, Peter Obi’s petition against Tinubu’s victory, as well as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its 2023 Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s petition on Tinubu’s dual citizenship, ruling that the petitions lacked merit.
