The Commissioner has been under huge pressure as a result of collapse of buildings in Lagos under his watch.

While still in office, a 21-storey building, still under construction, collapsed in Ikoyi last year, leading to the loss of about 50 lives with several others trapped as the high-rise building caved in.

Gbenga Omotoso, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, disclosed in a statement, that Governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-Olu has accepted Dr. Salako’s resignation.

Omotoso said: “This is a prelude to the restructuring of the Ministry and its agencies.

“Governor Sanwo-Olu thanks the Commissioner for his services to the State and wishes him success in his future endeavours.

“The Governor warns all players in the sector to respect the law or face the consequences of any indiscretion, no matter who the perpetrators are.”
