MOBO Awards 2022: Burna Boy carts two prizes – beat Beyonce, Drake to win Best International Act

Nigerian singer Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, professionally known as Burna Boy, has clinched two accolades at the MOBO Awards 2022 which took place at the Wembley Arena.

The record producer won two awards in the ‘Best International Act’ and ‘Best African Music Act’ categories.

MOBO Awards (Music Of Black Origin, also referred to as MOBOs) is a yearly British Music Awards presentation to honour achievements in “music of black origin”, which encompasses hip hop, reggae, R&B, African music and so on.

Burna Boy got nominated in the ‘Best International Act’ category alongside top American artists like Beyonce, Drake, Chris Brown, others on the category are Nigerian female songwriter and singer, Temilade Openiyi, known popularly by her stage name, Tems, Jack Harlow, Jazmine Sullivan, Kendrick Lamar, Skillibeng, Summer Walker.
