Killing of Lagos Lawyer: Press Release – President Buhari ‘condemns brutal killing of Bolanle Raheem’, assures ‘justice must be done’

President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the shooting and killing of Mrs. Omobolanle Raheem, a lawyer based in Lagos, by a Police Officer, ASP Drambi Vandi.

Mrs. Raheem was shot and killed by ASP Vandi on Christmas day in the Ajah area of Lagos State.

In the State House Press Release, President Muhammadu Buhari was “deeply saddened” after learning of the “brutal killing” of Mrs. Raheem by the trigger-happy ASP Vandi.

Buhari concluded by assuring “justice will be done in this case”.

PRESIDENT BUHARI CONDEMNS KILLING OF OMOBOLANLE RAHEEM, SAYS JUSTICE MUST BE DONE

“President @MBuhari

 Monday night condemned the “heinous and senseless” killing of Omobolanle Raheem, a member of @NigBarAssoc

shot by on-duty policemen on Christmas Day.


“The President said he was deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the brutal killing and directed the police authorities to take “the strongest possible action” against the culprits already held in detention.


“President Buhari said this incident is a stark reminder of the recurring menace of the mishandling of weapons and a wakeup call to law enforcement agencies, including @PoliceNG to ensure the full implementation of reforms instituted by the administration…


“… on the subject of weapons handling as well as the protection of the rights of citizens.


“In this hour of grief, the nation stands in solidarity with the bereaved family and the NBA. I assure that justice will be done in this case,” the President said.
