The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has officially extended the deadline for the return of old series of Naira notes (₦200, ₦500, and ₦1,000) from 31 January, 2023, to 10 February, 2023.

This is simply a 10-day extension from deadline.
According to the Apex Bank, the reason for the extension is “to allow for the collection of more old notes”.
This was announced through a Press Statement signed by the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.
