The Los Blancos started the encounter as the better side, however, lost to the Catalans after defender Eder Militao hit the back of his own net to hand Xavi’s side the advantage.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men pressured real hard to find the leveller, but were unable to create a clear cut chance as Barca defended beautifully, restricting their hosts all through the second 45 minutes by sitting deep.

The second leg will take place at Camp Nou on April 5 with the winner set to field against Osasuna it Athletic Bilbao in the final.
