The accident between the moving train and high capacity bus happened in the morning of Thursday 9 March, 2023, at PWD, around Shogunle.
The sad incident claimed the lives of two adults with several people sustaining serious injuries, as disclosed by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).
Governor Sanwo-Olu disclosed, the bus was a Lagos State Government Bus which was conveying staff of the Lagos State Govt.
As a result of the unfortunate incident, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has taken several decisions, which include:
- Suspension of his 2023 Governorship campaign for three (3) days
- Declaration of half day tomorrow, Friday 10 March, 2023, for civil servants
- All flags to be raised at half mast
- Declaration of a three-day mourning for Lagos State
