Former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, has sent his condolences to the US government and the Carter family following the passing of Jimmy Carter, former US President.

Jonathan said, “as a global peace icon, he devoted his life promoting peace, democracy, human rights and eradication of diseases like Guinea worm through the Carter Center.”
Jimmy Carter, 39th President of the United States (US), died on Sunday 29 December, 2024; he was “surrounded by his family”.
GEJ wrote: “I Offer my condolences to the United States Government and the Carter family on the passing of President Jimmy Carter, 39th President of the United States.
President Carter was a long-standing global statesman who distinguished himself in public service and acts of charity.
As a global peace icon, he devoted his life promoting peace, democracy, human rights and eradication of diseases like Guinea worm through the Carter Center.
He will be rememberd for his impactful life of service to humanity defined by selflessness and commitment to values of love, peace and justice.”
