Dayot Upamecano gave Thomas Tuchel’s side the lead with a powerful header from a corner, but Freiburg equalised a short while later when Nicolas Höfler arrowed in an unstoppable long-range drive on the half-volley.

Bayern continued to enjoy more of the ball in the second half but initially struggled to break down a Freiburg side that had regrouped well during the break.

Musiala handled a Höfler volley inside the box. Höler somehow kept his cool to smash in the spot-kick, sealing Freiburg’s place in the semi-finals along with it.Bundesliga
