The fighting in Sudan is between the Army of Sudan and the paramilitary force.
Margaret Harris, WHO Spokeswoman, revealed to reporters at a press briefing in Geneva, “Four hundred and thirteen people have died and 3,551 people have been injured … that we know of”.
The UNICEF revealed at least nine (9) children were among the dead and above fifty (50) children have been wounded.
As regards the Sudanese Health Ministry, Harris said, twenty (20) health facilities have ceased functioning and another twelve (12) are at risk of stopping operations.
She said, this would affect “not only the people who have been injured during this terrible fighting, but the people who were needing treatment before”.
James Elder, UNICEF Spokesman, said: “It’s taking a devastating toll on the country’s children.
“As long as fighting continues, children will continue to pay the price.
“The fighting means many families are trapped, with little or no access to electricity, terrified of running out of food, water and medicine.”
