The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has ensured the provision of food, water and other essential supplies for about nine hundred (900) Nigerians stranded at the Egypt Sudan border.

The severe unrest in Sudan has caused so many foreign nationals to flee the country.
The unfortunate condition in Sudan is as a result of a heavy fighting between the Army of Sudan and the paramilitary force – it has led to the death of hundreds with several others left seriously injured.
Nigeria has kicked off evacuation of Nigerian citizens in batches from the war-torn North African country.
Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, disclosed there are over three (3) million Nigerians resident in Sudan, adding that, the richest man in the country is Nigerian.
The food items were distributed by NEMA officials as well as the Nigerian Embassy in Egypt.
On Wednesday 3 May, 2023, the first batch of Nigerian evacuees were received at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, Nigeria by NIDCOM Boss, Dabiri-Erewa at about 2340hrs.
NEMA disclosed: “Food, water and other essential supplies provided for about 900 stranded Nigerians at Egypt Sudan border . The food items were provided and distributed by staff of NEMA and the Nigerian Embassy in Egypt.”
