The 2022 Gubernatorial Election in Osun State was conducted on 16 July, 2022.
Ademola amassed 403,371 votes while Oyetola polled 375,027 votes.
However, there has been controversy since the announcement of Adeleke as winner of the State’s Guber election as Oyetola claims his PDP opponent won by over-voting.
The Supreme Court will deliver judgement on the matter today.
January 27, 2023, Justice Tertse Kume declared former Governor, Oyetola, winner of the election and upturned Adeleke’s victory.
Oyetola scored the majority lawful votes of 314,931 while Adeleke 290,266, Justice Kume held.
However, Adeleke alongside PDP headed to the Court of Appeal, and on March 24, 2023, Adeleke was returned as winner of the election, nullifying the Tribunal’s judgement.
The Supreme Court held the matter on Monday 8 May, 2023 and fixed judgement for Tuesday 9 May, 2023.
