The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari and President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote on the inauguration of the 650,000 barrels per day Dangote Petroleum Refinery.

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery located at Lekki, Lagos was commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday 22 May, 2023.
The NCDMB said, the Dangote Refinery is “Africa’s biggest crude oil refinery and the world’s largest single-train facility”, adding, the “project is key to Nigeria’s energy security”.
Via a statement, the NCDMB said:
The Management and Staff of #NCDMB felicitate with President @MBuhari (GCFR), President of Dangote Petrochemical and Refinery Company, Alhalji Aliko Dangote, and the Nigerian Petroleum Industry on the inauguration of the 650, 000 barrels per day Dangote Petroleum Refinery.
This is Africa’s biggest crude oil refinery and the world’s largest single-train facility. This project is key to Nigeria’s energy security as well as export of refined products and is enduring evidence of President @MBuhari transformative impact on the oil and gas industry.
Construction phase involved
-55,569 Nigerian technicians/engineers
-199 Nigerian contractors directly and 200 firms indirectly
Operational phase, would employ
-2,042 persons directly
-Over 200,000 indirectly
-900 engineers
-45 service contractors from different fields
