Manchester City will welcome Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium in a Premier League match on Saturday 19 August, 2023 at 20:00 (Nigerian Time).
Guardiola disclosed John Stones “won’t be available”, and Ruben’s position ahead of the game remains uncertain.
On Ruben, the Spanish boss disclosed, “maybe he will be fit.”
On the encounter against Newcastle United, Guardiola said: “Of course, we are ready… The challenge is to prove ourselves again… It’s always how you overcome [challenges] that defines if you are a good team or not… we need our people more than ever, especially this season.”
On players injury update, Guardiola said: “Stones yes [he won’t be available], Ruben maybe he will be fit. [Stones is a] muscular issue. Last training he did not feel comfortable. I don’t know how long he will be out.”
