However, the German manager, said, “we want to change that” when his side, Bayern Munich locks horn with FC Copenhagen in the Uefa Champions League 2023/24 match in Denmark on Tuesday 3 October, 2023.
In his press conference ahead of the Uefa Champions League 2023/24 match between his side, Bayern Munich and FC Copenhagen, Tuchel said: “I have a lot of respect for every opponent in the Champions League. This is the toughest club competition in the world. Copenhagen faced Manchester City, Dortmund and Sevilla in the Champions League last season and didn’t lose a single home game. We want to change that.”
On Copenhagen head coach Jacob Neestrup, the Bavarians manager said: “He’s a very young and very successful coach. Copenhagen are the serial winners in Denmark. His style is clearly recognisable. We’re expecting them to line up in a 4-3-3. They look to remain compact, are dangerous on the counter and we’re expecting a mix of long balls and passing play.”
On the final training session in Copenhagen, Tuchel said: “It won’t be an intense, tactic-driven session. In this case, it made more sense for us to train here. I’m glad that we decided to do so.”
