Macron met with President Yitzhak Herzog and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Earlier, the United States (US) President, Joe Biden; Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (UK), Rishi Sunak; Governor of New York State, Kathy Hochul, visited Israel to “show solidarity” with Israel as it fights Hamas to defend itself.
The French President’s visit to Israel is coming following the fighting between Palestinian fighters known as Hamas and Israel which was triggered by the surprise attack launched by Hamas on Israel in the morning of Saturday 7 October, 2023.
President Macron said: “with President Yitzhak Herzog and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, to express the identification of the French with the Israeli people.”
