The Bridge collapsed after an enormous container ship lost power and crashed into it.

Due to the collapse of the Bridge, the Baltimore Port has been shut down, however, Biden assured it will be “reopened fully by the end of May”.

The US President said, it was on the same Port where the “British attacked American troops”.

According to President Biden: “During the war of 1812, a young Marylander named Francis Scott Key watched as the British attacked American troops from this very port.

“But as dawn broke, our flag was still there, surviving that perilous fight.

“Together, we’ll make it through the perilous challenge ahead.”

Biden went ahead to appreciate first responders and Port workers who “sprang into action before dawn” after the Bridge collapsed.

He added: “From the air, I saw a bridge that’s been ripped apart.

“But here on the ground, I see a community that’s come together.

“I want to thank all the first responders, port workers, and state and local officials who sprang into action before dawn and who’ve been here ever since.”
