Officials of the United States (US) have said, Russian troops are present at an airbase in Niger Republic where American soldiers are stationed.

The move is coming after military leaders in Niger gave an order for the US to withdraw troops from the country.
US officials disclosed to Reuters News agency, that, Russian forces were present at the base in Niamey, Capital of Niger Republic, however, were not interfering with American troops.
Lloyd Austin, US Secretary of Defence, confirmed the presence of Russian troops, but, said, they posed no “risk” to US troops.
Austin told journalists in Honolulu, Hawaii: “The Russians are in a separate compound and don’t have access to US forces or access to our equipment”.
