The House of God is a “holy place” and supposed to be “…the gate of heaven”.
1 Corinthians 6:19 says, “Don’t you know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit? The Spirit is in you. You have received him from God. You do not belong to yourselves.”
Even our bodies are “temples” (houses) of the Holy Spirit (God) – this means the body has to be kept “holy” all the time.
To keep the body “holy” is to obey God’s commands.
The House Of God
This is a place where people of different race and colour converge to fellowship with God in prayer and praise. In this place, we are expected to intercede for one another.
It is also a place where the life of a Christian is made sharp to flourish into maturity and fullness of God.
It can be a physical building or simply a place (can be our “bodies” or the heart of man) where the Spirit of God dwells.
What Is Happening In The Church Today
The Church has roles (divine) to play on earth. However, for this roles to be fulfilled successfully, the Church has to be “holy”.
Is the Church we see today a place where true Christians are loyal to God, loyal to the call, loaded with the fire for God, willing to be rewarded by God and not from their Pastors/Leaders?
Sadly, so many doctrines contrary to the Word of God abound in the Church today. This is what False Religion means!
Pretenders are flooding into the Church today. They position themselves “in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves” – the Bible calls them “false prophets” in Matthew 7:15.
House Of God – The Physical Building
- A place where believers fellowship with God. Malachi 3:1
- “The gate of heaven”. Genesis 28:17
- A place where we pray and fast unto God. Judges 20:26
- A place where we encourage ourselves as children of God. Psalm 55:14
- A place where people of any calibre are appointed unto all “manner of service” of God. 1 Chronicles 6:48
House Of God – The Heart Of Man
The Heart Of Man must be:
- dead to sin, however, alive in Jesus Christ. Romans 6:13
- holy because it is the “temple of the Holy Spirit”. 1 Corinthians 6:19
- seriously guarded so the enemy will not prevail in taking over it. Proverbs 4:23
- humble. This is one characteristic of Jesus Christ. He was humble all through to the extent he washed the feet of his disciples. John 13:1-5
- walk by faith and not sight. Romans 8:6

O Lord, give me the grace to be loyal to you!
