Howe said, “I like how they play. They have had some remarkable turnarounds in games where they have been losing and have had a late period of momentum to win.”

The English manager made the statement at his press conference ahead of the top flight game on Saturday afternoon.

Howe will be looking to clinch his 10th win back-to-back with the Magpies against the Cherries; Newcastle went nine (9) wins in a row after beating Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0 on Wednesday 15 January, 2025 at St. James’ Park.

Alexander Isak netted a brace, and Anthony Gordon scored one.

At his press conference ahead of the Saturday clash, Howe said:

On team news…

“We will make a decision on Fabian [Schär] today, he trained yesterday but was not 100% – we will see how he has recovered today. Other than that, it is pretty much the same squad.”

On potentially reaching a club record 10 wins in a row…

“We have actually been quite relaxed during this run, we have not talked about it, it is just about going onto the next game. Of course, we want to win and keep the run going as long as we can, but it is always about how we play in the next match.”

On Bournemouth…

“I like how they play. They have had some remarkable turnarounds in games where they have been losing and have had a late period of momentum to win. Their spirit is undeniable. Very difficult to play against, a really good game, two teams with mirroring styles but it will be two teams trying to win.”

On Alexander Isak…

“We could not regard Alex highly enough, his contribution this season has been immense.”

On the players’ mindset…

“The players have been very mature in their response in this winning run, the players are seeing this as an expectation they have rather than surpassing expectations. They are keeping the focus. There is a belief in the squad we have good players, and we can win games, for us it is just about remaining focused and looking ahead to the next game.”
