Alvarez a Manchester City player was very pivotal in Argentina’s Copa America triumph.
Argentina discomfited Colombia by a lone goal to emerge Champions; after 90 minutes of play without a goal, Lautaro Martinez netted the only goal of the encounter for Argentina in the 112nd minute (extra time).
The Copa 2024 trophy is Argentina’s third consecutive major winning after the Copa 2021 and the FIFA World Cup 2022.
Manchester City wrote: “Born to be a champion.”
At 24, with Argentina, Alvarez has won the Copa 2021, FIFA World Cup 2022 and Copa 2024; with Manchester City, he has won Premier League (2022/23, 2023/24), FA Cup 2022/23, Uefa Champions League 2022/23, Uefa Super Cup 2023 and FIFA Club World Cup 2023.
