DR Congo Conflict: ‘2.79m internally displaced due to armed vi*lence’ – UNOCHA

Due to “escalated armed violence” in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo), there has been “massive displacement” as well as “attacks on humanitarian workers”.

United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) revealed, “2.79m people are internally displaced” in the country, adding, “conflict constrains humanitarian access to people in need”.

UNOCHA revealed: “North Kivu, #DRCongo:


Armed violence has escalated in June, leading to massive displacement and attacks on humanitarian workers.


2.79M people are internally displaced.

Conflict constrains humanitarian access to people in need.”

According to a ‘Situation Report’ published on Monday 22 July, 2024 on reliefweb.int:

A new escalation of violence in the Lubero territory is leading to a massive displacement of the population.

Two aid workers killed in attack on humanitarian convoy in Butembo.
