Paris 2024: Football (Men) – France survive scare to reach final with 3-1 win over Egypt

France scaled through Egypt with a 3-1 triumph in the semi final to reach the final of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 on Monday 5 August, 2024.

At the Groupama Stadium in Lyon, Egypt took the lead in the 62nd minute through Mahmoud Saber, however, the hosts levelled in the 83rd minute through Jean-Philippe Mateta after converting Michael Olise’s assist.

Mateta added a second in the 99th minute, and Olise sealed victory for France in the 108th minute.

On the other side of the semi finals, Spain came from behind to discomfit Morocco 2-1.

France and Spain will fight for Gold in the final of the Football (Men) event on Friday 9 August, 2024, while Morocco and Egypt will fight for bronze on Thursday 8 August, 2024.
