The Games which kicked off on Friday 26 July, 2024 ended on Sunday 11 August, 2024.
At the closing ceremony of Paris 2024, Bach said: “The Olympic Games Paris 2024 were a celebration of the athletes and sport at its best.”
The IOC President was present at the official handover of the Olympic flag from Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, to Mayor of Los Angeles (LA), Karen Bass, on Sunday 11 August, 2024 at the closing ceremony of Paris 2024.
Both women are the “first female Mayors of Paris and LA”.
