A 4-year old boy who broke a 3,500-year-old jar accidentally at an Israeli museum has been forgiven and invited back.

The boy was invited back so that curators can convert the disaster into a moment for others to learn from.
The boy’s father, Alex Geller, said, his son, the youngest of three, is curious in an exceptional way, and after learning of the incident said, “please let that not be my child” was the first thought that raced through his head.
Geller told The Association Press, “He’s not a kid that usually destroys things, he just wanted to see what was inside.”
The bronze jar is one of many artifacts displayed out in the open.
Inbar Rivlin, director of the museum, which is associated with Haifa University in northern Israel, said, displaying the bronze jar alongside other artifacts was part of the Hecht Museum’s vision of letting visitors explore history without glass barriers.
