Rural Electrification Agency of Nigeria has signed a deal with China’s Huawei to establish “a world-class renewable energy simulation centre in Nigeria”.

According to Presidency Nigeria: “Nigeria’s Rural Electrication Agency @TheREANigeria and China’s Huawei have signed a landmark deal to establish a world-class Renewable Energy Simulation Centre in Nigeria.
This is a game-changer for Nigeria’s energy future and rural electrification.”
It continued: “The REA/HUAWEI world-class Renewable Energy Simulation and Technical Standardization Centre will:
– feature cutting-edge simulation laboratories capable of replicating a wide range of environmental conditions, including extreme weather, ensuring renewable energy systems deployed across Nigeria are reliable and efficient in the long term
– ensure consistent quality across all REA projects
– serve as a training ground for engineers, technicians, and energy professionals
– Drive Nigeria’s value chain localisation project meaning more equipment and components will be produced domestically thus reducing the reliance on imports and strengthening local manufacturing capabilities
– Train local engineers and standardize energy projects across the nation
– Equip Nigeria with advanced energy tech.”
