Filippo Grandi, High Commissioner for United Nations High Commission For Refugees (UNHCR), disclosed, he is on his way to attend the 79th Edition of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

He said, he will not hesitate to “tell leaders that aid alone cannot address the wars in the Middle East and Ukraine and other, neglected ones destroy Sudan, Myanmar, eastern DRC, the Sahel…”

We will tell leaders (once more!) that aid alone cannot address the unbearable human cost of this pandemic of conflicts.”
The first day of the high-level General Debate will be Tuesday, 24 September 2024, continue through Saturday, 28 September, and conclude on Monday, 30 September 2024.
