According to Governor Adeleke: “Following an invitation from the Agricultural counselor of the @Franceinnigeria, I attended the Livestock Summit in Clermont-Ferrand, France, alongside my Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Tola Faseru, and other members of the State Executive Council. During the summit, I had the pleasure of meeting several agrotech companies and livestock-specialized farmers who are utilizing modern technology and innovations to develop faster and more efficient farming practices.
I held meetings with various agrotech companies and livestock farms, as well as participated in a roundtable discussion with French partners who expressed their readiness to support Osun State in advancing its livestock farming sector.
In preparation for the upcoming visit of a French delegation to Osun State, as agreed during the meeting, the Ministry of Agriculture will finalize all necessary steps. This includes the development of a policy framework, the adoption of a demonstration farm, and the creation of a memorandum of understanding that will cover training in modern livestock skills at technical schools across Osun State.
After the summit, I toured a large dairy farm in Northern France, where I witnessed the real-life application of modern technology and artificial intelligence in advancing the livestock sub-sector. This is a model we aim to localize to further develop Osun’s dairy and livestock sectors. I look forward to strengthening our partnership with our French counterparts. Special thanks to Valor Iduh and Sonia Darracq.”
