The Best Player, Top Goalscorer, Best Young Player and Leading Goalkeeper all received their awards following Sunday’s World Cup 2026 final.
In the final in New York, United States (US), Spain locked horns with Argentina, led by Lionel Messi, and emerged winners with a lone goal triumph to cart home the trophy.
Prior to the clash, Julian Alvarez, Messi’s forward partner, said: “We will do everything to make sure Messi wins the World Cup again. Every game is a battle for him.”
Singular awards were handed out to players right inside the MetLife Stadium.

FIFA World Cup 2026 Golden Boot Winner
France forward, Kylian Mbappe, bagged this year’s World Cup Golden Boot with after scoring ten (10) goals. The most any player has netted in a single edition of the tournament since West Germany’s Gerd Müller cracked double digits in 1970.
Also, the Real Madrid forward emerged the World Cup all-time leading goalscorer with twenty-two (22), one goal ahead of Argentina forward, Lionel Messi.

FIFA World Cup 2026 Golden Ball Winner
Rodri of Spain was crowned the Best Player at the tournament. Fans at the MetLife Stadium made their sentiments known when they chanted ‘Messi’ during the presentation of trophy.
The Inter Miami forward had to settle for the Silver Ball award.
Pep Guardiola, former Manchester City, once said: “No. Do you know when Rodri will be good? At the World Cup with Spain. At the World Cup he will be the best Rodri.”

FIFA World Cup 2026 Golden Globe Winner
Spain goalkeeper, Unai Simon, won the Golden Globe at the World Cup 2026, and he made no save at the final on Sunday as his side dominated the contest all through.
The Athletic Bilbao goalie recorded seven (7) clean sheets in the tournament.
FIFA World Cup 2026 Young Player award Winner
19-year old Pau Cubarsi of Spain won the Young Player award, comfortably outshining Barcelona winger, Lamine Yamal and any other player at the tournament born on or after Jan. 1, 2005 to be crowned the best Young Player.
FIFA World Cup 2026 Fair Play Trophy
This accolade is handed out to the team which made it past the first round with the best disciplinary record.
This year, the award went to the Netherlands, who bagged just three (3) yellow cards. Netherlands only won two (2) games and were ousted in the Round of 32
